Traveling this Thanksgiving? Steel yourself with seaweed
Traveling during the holidays can certainly test your endurance, and in the midst of all the chaos at the airport terminal, you may find yourself making dietary choices that just make matters worse. After all, as tempting as another seemingly bottomless cup of coffee and donut may seem after hours of waiting in line and lugging your suitcases from one place to another, will this meal really give you the fuel you need to make it to your destination with your sanity intact?
With that in mind, a Chicago dietitian recently released a roundup of some of the healthier options to savor if you're passing through O'Hare airport this season. Among the list of dishes recommended by nutritionist René Ficek is a selection of seaweed recipes from Wicker Park Seaweed and Sushi.
"Their seaweed salad and edamame are [...] super nutritious choices! These menu items will ensure your daily omega 3 goal and supply a healthy dose of important micronutrients like magnesium, zinc, and selenium," Ficek told the style website Racked.
As much as we look forward to this time of year, it can also bring excessive stress and exertion – not to mention a host of comfort foods that may be lacking in nutritional value. As such, now may be an ideal time to investigate the benefits of seaweed for health, since this sea vegetable has been shown to help boost energy and enhance mood, among many other substantial assets. Seagreens® seaweed contains high levels of vitamins, minerals and trace elements and can be consumed easily as Food Capsules. It can even enhance the flavor and boost the nutritional value of your Thanksgiving feast as The Mineral Salt and the Culinary Ingredient!
